Our Mission
To preserve, interpret, and share the historical significance of West Point and its natural resources, to Virginia and the Nation beyond by:
- Celebrating West Point’s political, military, social, artistic, and cultural history.
- Maintaining historic properties, and collecting, exhibiting, and conserving artifactual and archival materials made in, used in, or associated with West Point.
- Working with interest groups within the community to enhance specific collections, properties, and points of interest.
- Advocating the conservation and preservation of West Point’s natural and manmade environment through educational programs and other appropriate means.
Our Vision
The vision of the Society is to enhance the impact of personal and community stories and history to enrich lives. The Society is:
- A home for collections of artifacts and items used in and around the Town of West Point.
- A partner with the community to develop and provide historical educational initiatives.
- A presenter of programming that expands upon community stories and events connected to West Point history.
- A priority for a diverse network of members, donors, and volunteers who work to support the Society’s impact and strengthen its future.
