Christmas on the Town

The Historical Society of West Point will sponsor house tours at this year's celebration of "Christmas on the Town," Sunday, December 5. Both newly built and historic homes have been included in the 2010 tour, all of which are located within the town's Historic District. Visitors will be welcome from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Cunningham and Boswell homes on Lee Street, the Kelley home on Fifth Street, and the Pillsbury home and St. John's Episcopal Church on Main Street.

Tickets will go on sale November 5 at the following locations: West Point Antiques, C&F Bank (both Main and Fourteenth Street branches), BB&T Bank in Mattaponi, Essex Bank, Divin' Off the Dock, and BayLands Federal Credit Union. Tickets are $15 per person in advance and will be available for $20 each on the day of the tours at West Point Antiques at 706 Main Street.

Local musicians will perform at each of the locations and members of the West Point High School Key Club will offer refreshments. Members of the Historical Society of West Point will be available to assist visitors and answer questions at each stop on the tour. As a courtesy to our neighbors who have opened their doors, we request that guests refrain from smoking or entering restricted areas of the homes and exercise care with wet or muddy footwear, especially if the weather is inclement.
